ATLANTA -- A 1-year-old girl is expected to recover after being stabbed in the cheek at her home early Thursday.
The incident happened at around 3:45 a.m. at a house on Sims Avenue NW in northwest Atlanta.
Atlanta Police Capt. Tim Peek said the child received a small puncture wound to the face during a fight between her parents.
The little girl is in stable condition at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. Peek said the child's grandmother is staying in the hospital with her.
The baby's parents will be charged with cruelty to children; other charges are possible, Peek said. The suspects' names were not released.
