(KANE COUNTY, Ut.) -- A Snellville man drowned Monday afternoon in Utah lake while trying to help his wife.
Joe Coffield, 61, and his wife were in Utah visiting Lake Powell when Mrs. Coffield, who was in the water and wearing a life jacket, began to drift away.
Coffield was trying to help his wife get back to their rental boat when he under the water and never resurfaced, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
Wednesday morning, dive crews, working with the National Park Service, Utah Department of Public Safety and the Summit County Sheriff's Office, were able to locate and recover Coffield's body.
This was the fourth boating related death in five days in the Kane County portion of Lake Powell, which is a man-made reservoir on the Colorado river in between Utah and Arizona.
