Geary Otis: Charged with murder and agg. assault in June 2013
ATLANTA -- A man accused of stabbing two people at a senior center on Monday will remain in jail.
Two residents of the Baptist Towers Apartments on Myrtle Drive in southwest Atlanta were stabbed just before 11 p.m. Monday evening.
One victim, a woman in her 60's, was killed. Atlanta Police Capt. Tim Peek said a second victim, a man in his 60's, is in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. Their names were not released.
The man was stabbed in a common room at the apartments. The woman was attacked in her room. Police do not have a motive.
Geary Otis appeared in court Wednesday and waived his first appearance hearing. He is in the Fulton County jail with no bond.
Atlanta Police spokeswoman Kim Jones said Otis was covered in blood and carrying two large kitchen knives when he was arrested.
Otis has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.
