ATLANTA -- PulteGroup will relocate its corporate headquarters to Buckhead from Michigan, bringing hundreds of jobs to the city.
"I am pleased to welcome PulteGroup to the City of Atlanta," Mayor Reed said. "This corporate relocation, which is rare for a company regularly ranked on the Fortune 500 list, will bring more than 300 jobs to the city. It will solidify our strength as a leading city for business, from transnational and national corporations to entrepreneurial start-ups. Creating jobs and fostering business investment has been a top priority of my administration, and I look forward to working with Richard J. Dugas, Jr., PulteGroup Chairman, President and CEO and his team, as the company and its employees transition to their new corporate headquarters in Atlanta."
PulteGroup builds and develops homes in 28 states. The company decided to make the move based on a trend of increasing investments outside of Michigan and Midwest markets.
Georgia Governor Nathan Deal said, "Pulte will not only be able to quickly build its growth markets from a strategic central location, it will also thrive in a dynamic business environment powered by the fourth-largest population growth in the country."
A statement from PulteGroup Chairman, President and CEO Richard Dugas said the company's growth strategy must fit with long-term growth trends for the company and industry. He said Atlanta fits those needs.
