GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Hall County Animal Control impounded nearly 70 animals from a home in North Hall County on Thursday, May 16.
A neighbor had complained about the animals, so Animal Control officials went to the home on Bogus Road in Gainesville to find 67 dogs running loose along with two guinea pigs.
The owners of the animals, according to Mike Ledford, Animal Services Director, were charged with animal hoarding and loose animal violations. The owners gave up all but one to the Hall County Animal Shelter.
As of one week later, the shelter had paired 15 of the animals with new homes, and will continue to find safe homes for the remaining ones with the help of Animal Services, Ledford said.
The shelter is located on Barber Road, and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
