ATLANTA -- A quick-thinking robbery victim's actions led to the arrest of her attacker in Virginia-Highland Thursday morning.
The victim told police she was robbed shortly after midnight while sitting in her car on Los Angeles Avenue.
Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones said the suspect approached the victim and demanded money. As she tried to grab some change, he pulled out a knife and cut her face.
The victim was able to drive away and flag down an Atlanta Police officer on nearby North Highland Avenue. Jones said the victim spotted her attacker walking down the street and pointed him out to the officer, who arrested him.
The suspect was identified as 42-year-old Elmer Serrano. He was taken to the Fulton County Jail on a robbery charge.
The victim was treated for her minor cut by Grady EMS.
