ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech's first-ever football game against Georgia Southern has been moved up one year, from 2015 to 2014.

The change in the schedule fills a vacancy in Tech's 2014 schedule and coincides with Georgia Southern's move from the FCS (I-AA) level to FBS as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.

The Eagles are coached by Jeff Monken, who was an assistant coach at Georgia Tech from 2007-09 and served six seasons as an assistant coach at Navy under Paul Johnson.

Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern have never previously met in football.

The Yellow Jackets' 2014 non-conference schedule is now complete, with home games against Georgia Southern and Wofford, and road games at Tulane and Georgia.

Tentative Dates For 2014 Non-Conference Schedule
Wofford Aug. 30
at Tulane Sept. 6
Georgia Southern Sept. 13
at Georgia Nov. 29
