GRIFFIN, Ga. -- A bag full of human bones was found Monday at a homeless shelter in Griffin.
Spalding County Sheriff Wendell Beam said the bones were discovered at a shelter on East McIntosh Road. The person who found them brought them back to his home, where he turned them over to police.
Investigators determined the remains were human. They were delivered to the Georgia State Crime Lab for further testing.
Beam said police are working to determine if the bones may be those of a person reported missing in Griffin or Spalding County.
