About six months after the shooting, Atlanta Police arrested brothers Jeremy and Montez Thompkins for the murder of the 2-year-old girl.

Authorities say the children were not the intended target during the shooting however an actual motive is unclear.

Howard says she was holding one of the injured children at the time of the shooting and that Tyteyanna was laying beside her when she was shot.

Howard, also, said she oftentimes feels guilty that she wasn't able to shield Tyteyanna from the gunshots but she appreciates the people who helped and submitted tips that led to the murderers arrest.
