HINESVILLE, Ga. -- Georgia Lottery officials say a scratch-off ticket worth a $2.5 million prize was sold to a Florida man at a convenience store near the Georgia coast.
Stanley Carlton of Perry, Fla., cashed in his winning ticket at the Georgia Lottery's district office in Savannah. Lottery officials said Wednesday he bought the ticket at Hinesville Station, a store on West Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville.
The $2.5 million prize is the top payout in the Millionaire Jumbo Bucks scratch-off game. The tickets cost $20 each.
Lottery officials say the same store sold a scratch-off ticket in 2011 that awarded a seven-night vacation aboard a cruise ship.
