MARIETTA, Ga. -- Whitlock Avenue in Marietta is closed in front of Marietta High School because of a gas leak Friday afternoon.
Marietta Police spokesman Michael Gardner said a construction crew hit and ruptured a gas main at around 1 p.m.
Crews shut down the road in both directions between Burnt Hickory Road and Carriage Oaks Drive while they work to fix the leak.
Gardner said the high school is operating as normal.
There was no immediate word on how long it would take to fix the leak.
