Niki Taylor celebrates the 2012 Nexcare Give Campaign and World Blood Donor Day at an American Red Cross Ball on June 13, 2012 in New York City.
ATLANTA -- Extremely grateful and, at one point, fighting back tears Supermodel Niki Taylor flew back to Atlanta to thank a small room full of blood donors for saving her life.
At one point in her career, Taylor was at the top of her game. She had a lucrative modeling career and the world at her fingertips. However, a move off the catwalk on an Atlanta street nearly claimed her life in a matter of seconds.
Taylor describes the one car accident as "devastating" and she says speed was not a factor.
After the accident, Taylor said she started to experience severe abdominal pain and told the driver to pull over.
"If I had not told him that we needed to stop and if I had not gotten out of that car - and he kept driving - I would have bled internally," Taylor said.
Taylor thinks she would have died from her injuries if she didn't pull over.
"I am living proof that you never know when your life is going to change in a matter of minutes," said Taylor.
