DALTON, Ga. -- A Dalton man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to having inappropriate sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl he met online.
21-year-old Cody Allen Satterfield was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of probation after negotiating a plea deal that led to charges of aggravated child molestation and enticing a child to be dropped.

Authorities say Satterfield was 19 when the victim ran away from home and called him to pick her up after meeting him on Facebook.
District Attorney Brett Poston says Satterfield initially denied any wrongdoing, then acknowledged the inappropriate contact with the girl and that he knew she was 12-years-old.
Satterfield's attorney Jerry Moncus says the sentence is harsher than what he'd hoped for.
