DACULA, GA -- Gwinnett County Police are investigating the former leader of a youth sports association who is accused of bilking the kids' group out of tens of thousands of dollars.

The current president of the Mountain View Athletic Association in Dacula filed a police report saying there is $45,000 missing from its accounts.

He blames his predecessor of stealing and provided a list of more than $28,000 worth of expenditures that were never approved. Most were funds that parents provided to aid in their various childrens' sports.

Among the places where a debit card was used were Nordstrom, online for Kenny Chesney concert tickets, four visits to a Mexican restaurant, gas, car payments, and even an online donation to a nonprofit group called Save the Manatee.

11Alive News is not using the name of the suspect, because he has not been formally charged with any crime, however, police are investigating the situation and parents are outraged.

Tuesday afternoon, 11Alive's Duffie Dixon had been able to track down the former president at his home. He said he didn't have any comment.
