Yea or Nay? Atlanta City Council Weighs in on New Stadium Deal

In regards to Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed's announcement on the new Falcons stadium deal, the 11Alive Help Desk reached out to the Atlanta City Council president and each of the councilmembers to see how they would vote on the proposal.

How did the president and members of the Atlanta City Council weigh in regarding the new stadium?  Who is in favor of it?  Who is against?  Below are their responses.

Ceasar C. Mitchell, Atlanta City Council President
"I am supportive of an agreement that includes public investment in a new stadium provided that such an investment produces a return to tax payers.  I look forward to evaluating a proposal that accomplishes this objective."

Carla Smith, District 1
"In light of the new information and numbers coming in I will make a decision once I've had the opportunity to see all of the details and fully vet the proposal."

Councilmember Adrean stated that it was too soon to give a definite 'yes' or 'no' on the proposed deal.  She shared that she would prefer that metro-Atlanta citizens pay no part of the infrastructure cost in the deal.
