DAWSONVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- A north Georgia couple has been charged with arson in a fire that caused heavy damage to a home they were renting.
Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says 31-year-old James Henry Raines and his 31-year-old wife, Gloria, were arrested Thursday and are being held in the Dawson County Detention Center. James Raines is charged with arson and a probation violation and Gloria Raines is charged with making false statements, concealment of facts and probation violation.
Hudgens says the couple was in the process of being evicted from the home when the fire happened in late April. Hudgens says a warrant has also been issued for a third man who will face similar charges.
