ATLANTA, Ga. -- It's called Fakeinternetgirlfriend.com -- and it's a website that allows men to rent an online girlfriend for $250 bucks per month.
But a 90 day contract is required bringing the total cost for its services to a whopping $750 bucks for a fake cyberspace girlfriend.
We couldn't wait to get an opinion on this one. "What's the point? Doing it just to appear that you have a significant other?" asked Tiffany Leake-Hunter, owner of Ken Bailey Hair Studio.
So, we dropped by Ken Bailey Hair Studio - a salon near downtown Atlanta.
"I think it's crazy and I would be terrified. I'd be scared," said Leake-Hunter.
"You're still lonely and you're out of money," said hair stylist Lakeisha Leslie.
The reasoning behind it all? Some say they often need to rent a fake companion for their job.
"It's so many other things that you can invest in," said Leslie.
Others claim employers are biased towards its single employees, trusting those who can handle a relationship with more.
Here's how it works: the fake girlfriend will show up on Facebook, Twitter and or other social media sites. And communicate with its customer.
And the website says it's stressing the fact that Fake Internet Girlfriend is not an escort agency.
"Maybe, I'm in the wrong profession - maybe i need to act as an internet boyfriend," said hair stylist Tellis Dee Johnson.
There are also men who just want to make their real girlfriend jealous to get them to care more. Good luck with that.
"Me, I would never pay for a girlfriend," said Johnson.
"Well, I'm going to tell you something -- fake girlfriend isn't new okay," said social media expert Desiree Scales of Bella Web Design Incorporated.
"Our lives are an open book."
