More than 500 people pack gun safety seminar.

The department will hold its next free gun safety class at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28.
More than 500 people attended the last seminar, which was held Jan. 24.
"This program has been developed to educate the citizens on current firearm laws and weapon safety," Marietta Police Sgt. Jake King said in a statement. "We want to equip citizens with the knowledge and skills so they feel confident owning and handling a firearm or weapon if they choose to do so."
Topics covered at the seminar will include weapon safety and law, recommended home defense weapons, and use of stun guns and pepper spray.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP to Officer David Baldwin. Include your name, telephone number and number of seats requested.
