(USA Today) -- Lance Armstrong is going on Oprah.

And you know what that means.

Armstrong is probably going to open up about something - or he's just starting up the public-relations machine.

The Oprah Winfrey Network is scheduled to air a 90-minute "no-holds-barred interview" with the famed cyclist on Jan. 17. It will be his first major interview since the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a huge file of evidence against him October that said he used drugs and blood transfusions throughout his career to gain an advantage.

Armstrong has denied doping allegations for years but has maintained a mostly public silence since the evidence came out. The three-month silence has fueled speculation that he might be considering a confession after being fired by all of his sponsors and stripped of his seven titles in the Tour de France.

The network says Winfrey interviews Armstrong at his home in Austin.

By talking to Winfrey, Armstrong is taking a well-worn celebrity path back to public redemption. The iconic talk show host has been known for wringing various emotional revelations from celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Whitney Houston and Rihanna.
