ATLANTA -- The world didn't come to an an like some say the Myans predicted, but that's not stopping people across the metro from partying like there's no tomorrow.

'End of the world" parties and "last supper" dinner specials were planned all over the city.

One group in Mabelton packed for the end of the world, with coupons and whooopie pies.

Chris Green and company put on an end of the world 5K race Friday night.   They invited runners to come as they picture how it will all end.

The race course was lined with other false end-of-the-world predictions.

There have been at least 163 recorded specific, failed predictions of the end of the world.

December 21, 2012 is based, some say loosely, on an ancient Myan prophecy predicting THIS DAY as the end of the world.

Some of the race proceeds will help make it a little better. It's supporting the nonprofit The Center for Children and Young Adults.
