DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- The rules for DeKalb County smokers just got tougher. On Wednesday, the county implemented a public smoking ban.
The smoking ban prohibits people from smoking in public parks, playgrounds and public service lines and was passed by the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, earlier this year.
According to the DeKalb County Health Department, second-hand smoke costs DeKalb County households $548.00 per year.
Other nearby cities have enacted similar bans like Alpharetta, Decatur, Marietta and Roswell.
