VALENCIA, CA -- An unidentified Valencia man has been arrested after police on the East Coast were alerted to a blog post in which he allegedly said he wouldn't mind killing children in a massacre similar to the Aurora, Colo., theater shootings.

Neighbors described the suspect as in his 20s. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department described him only as an Asian male.

Several firearms were found inside his home.

The residence, in the 23000 block of Edenton Place, Valencia (map), overlooks Santa Clarita Elementary School and Arroyo Seco Junior High. The schools had stepped-up security Tuesday.

He was taken into custody Monday without incident, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Department Santa Clarita Valley station.

A search warrant was served on the home after detectives conducted surveillance of the location, the Sheriff's Department said.

Authorities said they were alerted to the blog post by police in Bristol, Conn.

The Connecticut investigators reported "unknown person posted on a blog that they were watching kids and did not mind murdering them. The blogger mentioned that it would be like the Aurora, Colorado shooting," the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in its release.

Neighbors said the suspect lived in the home with his parents and was "well educated."

The Sheriff's Department said it was in contact with Yale University police "to ascertain if there are any outstanding suspects." It was not clear what relationship the student had to Yale, though neighbors said they believed he had graduated from the Ivy League institution.

Bristol is about 30 miles north of Yale's main campus in New Haven, Conn.

The department said it would not release the suspect's name until it was determined there are no additional suspects.
