MACON, Ga. -- Vendors from all across Georgia teamed up to give one military couple the chance to tie the knot, without digging into their wallets.

Military couples from across the nation applied for the giveaway, but a letter from 23-year-old Meghan Weekley and her fiance Marshall caught the eye of the judge's panel.

Weekley says, "The difference in our relationship was the space. For six years Marshall lived far away from me. He joined the Navy in 2006 right after he graduated from high school."

The couple met eight years ago in high school. Weekly says their love has endured many things, starting with her fiance's time in basic training where he wrote, "When I feel like dropping and just quitting, I start to think of you, and I just picture in my head driving to your house in my uniform and seeing you for the first time and it inspires me to keep going."

Their relationship kept going, even through a five-year period when he was stationed in Japan.

"We had a lot of Skype dates," says Weekley. "And then when he got back here last year, we just knew. As soon as I saw him, we just knew that we were supposed to be together."

Weekly now works in Bibb County as a teacher, while her fiance is stationed in Maryland.

In her letter to the judges, Weekley explained, "A military life is never something that I would have wanted, but Marshall is."

Vendors have donated everything from Weekly's wedding dress, to decorations and food, adding up to a wedding worth over double her original $5,000 budget.

"It really does mean a lot when people do that for you, because I think people take for granted spending time with each other, you know, you go on dates on the weekend, Marshall and I can't do that."

Weekly says she plans to move to Maryland after the wedding in just over three months.

The couple will tie the knot at the end of December in front of 100 of their closest family members and friends.
