ATLANTA -- You're probably paying more for meat at the grocery store because of the drought. What about when you eat out?
One local bar is biting the bullet on burger prices.
Cypress Street Pint & Plate in Midtown serves as many as 500 hamburgers every week.
This year, the owner's paying almost 25% more for ground beef compared to last year.
"All proteins are going up a lot, tremendously," Billy Streck said. "We're just trying to follow the trend and see where it's going to cap off."
And right now, no one knows how high beef prices will go.
Blame it on the weather.
The drought in the Midwest has made it tough for ranchers to keep cattle. Their pastures are parched, and feed is scarce.
What's left of the corn crop is pricey.
"We're gonna hold tight and not raise prices on the customers just yet," Streck said.
After building a loyal following for four years, he knows higher menu prices won't be good for business. Instead, Streck says he'll take the hit to his bottom line.
"We're definitely going to hold out as long as we can," he said.
