LITHONIA, Ga. -- A teen driver crashed his vehicle and injuring himself and his passenger after fleeing the scene of a wreck.
DeKalb County Police said the first accident involved two cars and happened at around 2 a.m. Tuesday on South Deshon Road near Shady Creek Drive.
When one of the cars attempted to flee the scene, it ran into a utility pole. The teen driver and his passenger were trapped in the car and freed by responding emergency crews.
Both teenagers are being treated at Grady Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not available.
Police say the young driver will be charged with driving without a license and hit and run.
