NEW ORLEANS -- Mandatory evacuations have been declared for many of the parishes in New Orleans.
In the Lower Ninth Ward, residents have been boarding up their homes and business or evacuating all together.
Seven years ago, the Lower Ninth Ward was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and many residents aren't taking any chances with TS Issac.
Although the winds aren't as strong and the storm isn't expected to cause as much damage as 2005's Hurricane Katrina, residents learned after Katrina that staying in New Orleans and riding out the storm is probably not the best option.
Some Ninth Ward residents have planned to try and ride out the storm, but most have evacuated inland.
