ATHENS, Ga. --- The entire senior staff of UGA's daily paper, The Red and Black, has resigned as of Wednesday evening.
In her resignation letter, the former editor-in-chief Polina Marinova cites issues like: the hiring of permanent staff members, the subjectivity of "good" and "bad" journalism and the overall editorial role of students on staff.
According to a report in the Red and Black, unrest associated with the publication has been "building since the summer."
Marinova says previously the paper was good experience for student journalists but it's "no longer a place where lessons can be learned without serious repercussions."
The former staff members have created a blog, as a result of the resignations, called Red and Dead and their plan is to post original content on the blog; free of constraints.
The staff has, also, created a Twitter account and has been tweeting different news organizations to shed light on their issue.
11Alive has reached out to the staff and their faculty adviser but they cannot be reached for comment, at this time.
