ATLANTA -- Volunteers whacked away bamboo and shrubbery Sunday morning along the Beltline from Park Drive to the Amsterdam Walk. They are clearing the area so eventually a smooth pathway can be built.

"The Beltline is a great way to connect Atlanta," says volunteer Robert Robinson.

The loss of the TSPLOST revenue will slow down completion of some projects for the Beltline but not stop the progress.

"The Atlanta Beltline project endures as the single most compelling vision for the future of Atlanta and the region." Beltline Communications Director says, "Tens of thousands of passionate grassroots supporters remain engaged and the philanthropic and business communities remain invested in this transformative project in the aftermath of Tuesday's vote."

For nearby businesses, the Beltline is already providing a boost in traffic. General Manager of Urban Licks, Shireen Herrington says so many more people are walking into the restaurant by way of their back patio (that faces the Beltline), they will soon be adding a new entrance and hostess stand to accommodate the new flow of customers.
