ATLANTA -- Hot and muggy again today with high temperatures in the mid 90s. Mostly sunny skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m.

Much like yesterday, they will be scattered throughout much of the state with some storms producing effects similar to yesterday including small hail, heavy rainfall, and lots of lightning. A bit breezy at times in the afternoon from the west around 10-15 mph.

Temperatures this evening will fall to the upper 80s around 7 p.m., then down to the mid 80s as many fireworks displays start around 9-10 p.m. Rain chances will also end around that time as well. Eventually, temperatures will bottom out in the mid 70s during the overnight.
