ATLANTA -- Al-Jazeera Washington Bureau Chief Abderrahim Foukara is headed to Emory University.

Foukara will deliver a public lecture titled "The Arab Spring: Between the Freedom of the Future and the Shackles of the Past" on Feb. 17. The lecture is presented by The Halle Institute for Global Learning and the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies.

The free event begins at 4:30 p.m. in Winship Ballroom, Dobbs University Center, 605 Asbury Circle.

Foukara is Al-Jazeera's Washington bureau chief and host of "Min Washington" ("From Washington"), a weekly round-table show on American political and cultural affairs. He first joined Al-Jazeera in 2002 as a Washington-based reporter before becoming head of its United Nations office.
