CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Carrollton-based Bears on Patrol and the West Georgia Amateur Radio Society are offering a $100 reward to anyone who finds and returns a missing weather balloon.
The balloon was launched in Carrollton on Nov. 6. It contained radio tracking equipment and two GoPro cameras.
About 70 miles into its flight, the batteries died, according to Bears on Patrol. The balloon was about 63,500 feet in the air above Union City.
Bears on Patrol members believe the balloon could be anywhere from Union City to DeKalb County near Redan and Lithonia.
Anyone who sees or recovers the balloon is asked to contact Blake Raab with Bears on Patrol at 770-834-9309 or email@example.com.
