ATLANTA -- Runners were encouraged to dress as their favorite action heroes for the first-ever "Action Dash," a 5K fundraiser for Action Ministries on Labor Day. Olympic paddler Tim Hornsby was the grand marshal for the event at Piedmont Park. He gave participants high fives at the finish line. Action Ministries held five simultaneous runs Monday in the five main Georgia cities where it addresses hunger, housing and education for families in need. Runners also gathered in Rome, Gainesville, Athens and Augusta.
