PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL -- It was the purse seen round the world, and now it's for sale on eBay.
Ginger Littleton snuck up behind a gunman holding her fellow school board members hostage at a meeting in Florida last week. She used her big brown handbag to whack his arm.
Littleton's mother-in-law had given her the $300 faux crocodile Brahmin purse because it had gotten too heavy for her to use.
It wasn't heavy enough able to disarm the shooter. He fired at other school board members before fatally shooting himself. No one else was hurt and video of the incident was broadcast worldwide.
Littleton put the purse up for auction last week, dedicating proceeds to a charity that donates bikes and toys to needy children. It was started by Mike Jones, the district security chief who shot and wounded the gunman.
Bidding was temporarily halted because the purse didn't meet the right requirements for a charitable listing, but it's back up for auction.
With two days left, bidding was up to $9,100 by Monday afternoon.
