Vote for the best girls' high school basketball coach in Georgia

(USA TODAY) -- The search for America's best high school girls basketball coach is underway.

Round one voting on the girls basketball coach contest will end Feb. 24.  The state winners and two wild cards advance to a regional round Feb. 25-March 4.  Regional winners and again two wild cards move onto the national round March 5-12.

USA TODAY High School Sports selected five active high school girls basketball coaches in each state and Washington, D.C. after more than a month of conversations with local media and other state/school officials with expertise.  From there, the fans are deciding which girls basketball coach will emerge from a list of 255.

Here's a look at the Atlanta area coaches in round one:

Angie Hembree
Norcross HS
Hembree has won six state titles and coached such superstars as Maya Moore and Diamond DeShields. Her 21-year record is 423-143.

Gene Durden
Buford HS
Durden has put together a 25-year record of 587-163. His teams have won three state titles and placed second four times.

Jan Azar
Wesleyan HS, Norcross
Azar holds the Georgia record with a total of 10 state titles and also has a pair of second place finishes. Her 16-year record is 409-85.

Kathy Richey-Walton
Southwest DeKalb HS, Decatur
Richey-Walton has put together a record of 245-82 in 11 years. That includes four state titles and one runner-up finish.
