  • ATLANTA -- The FBI and Atlanta Police want your help getting an alleged killer off the streets. Jonathan Kirkland, 24, is wanted for the murder of an Atlanta sports club owner last month.

The FBI said he is a top priority because he is threatening to kill anyone who tries to arrest him. FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett said Kirkland threatened one of their agents. "(He said) that any law enforcement officer that came after him and tried to apprehend him would be shot and killed," Emmett said.

According to the Fulton County Sheriff's website Kirkland has been arrested nine times since 2008. Three of those arrests were for crimes of violence. None of them as violent as what he allegedly showed on December 30th outside the Déjà Vu sports club on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard. Police said Kirkland and his brother, Brandon Kirkland, approached the club's owner and two others in the parking lot.

"It was the way that he and his brother engaged those three individuals and shot them in by all accounts, an unprovoked manner," Emmett said.

Brandon Kirkland was arrested January 23, 2014 and charged with Murder and aggravated assault. Club owner Amin Bouchelaghem was killed. Two other men with the owner were shot but have since recovered from their injuries.

Jonathan Kirkland is still on the loose. And the FBI said he doesn't want to be arrested. Kirkland is also a suspect in a number of ATM smash and grabs, according to police.

The FBI and Atlanta police are asking anyone who knows where Kirkland is to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
