DONALSONVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say a teenage boy was killed and two others were treated for hypothermia after being thrown from their boat while duck hunting in south Georgia.

The body of 17-year-old Matthew Jernigan was pulled from Lake Seminole south of Donalsonville Tuesday afternoon. He and two classmates from Southwest Georgia Academy fell into the lake Tuesday morning and the station reports two other boys were able to swim to a nearby island.

Seminole County Sheriff Heath Elliot urges anyone participating in water activities to wear life jackets and keep flotation devices nearby.

An autopsy has been scheduled in the teen's death and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident.

Donalsonville is about 65 miles southwest of Albany.
