Authorities say the body of 24-year-old Aaron Cross was recovered Tuesday morning about 500 yards where he went under. Capt. Bob Lynn of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said cadaver dogs alerted officials to the man's body.
Cross' friends say the man was preparing to move out of the state and wanted to swim in the Ocmulgee River one last time before leaving. After jumping into the river, Cross screamed that he was freezing and eventually went under.
