MACON (WMAZ) -- The lawyer for a man accused of shooting a woman outside a Macon gas station is asking a judge to grant him bond.

Frank Reeves, 73, is charged with murder for allegedly shooting Linda Hunnicutt at the Murphy's Express on Gray Highway last month.

Today, Veronica Brinson asked Judge Howard Simms to grant him $30,000 bond.

She cited his ties to the community and his health.

Brinson said, "We want him to be healthy for these proceedings. We want him to live through these proceedings. "

It is unknown whether Reeves has any specific medical issues, but he must use a wheelchair to get around.

The judge also heard from Hunnicutt's family, who argued against the bond.

One of Hunnicutt's daughters told the judge that her mother's life was worth more than $30,000.

Simms declared a recess to review the evidence and may rule later today.
