El Segundo, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Lakers announced All-Star
forward Pau Gasol has plantar fasciitis in his right foot, but is expected to
play through the injury.
An MRI revealed the inflammation on Thursday, just over a week after Gasol
returned from an eight-game absence while dealing with tendinitis in both of
Despite the ailment, the Lakers' Twitter feed stated Gasol is probable for
Friday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The 32-year-old Spaniard played 29-plus minutes in each of the four games
since coming back, which included a 19-point, six-rebounds effort over 37
minutes in a loss to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
For the season, the 12-year veteran is averaging a career-low 12.6 points to
go with 8.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists over 21 games.
