ATLANTA -- Georgia ranks No. 34 in 24/7 Wall St.'s annual "Best and Worst Run States" report.

The list looks at data on financial health, standard of living and government services by state.

Georgia was applauded for its conservative fiscal management and being one of only 10 states to land the highest credit rating offered by Moody's and S&P.

However, the report noted the state has been hit hard by the housing crisis and had one of the nation's largest budget shortfalls in fiscal 2011.

From the list, Georgia at a glance:

Debt per capita -- $1,426 (third lowest)
Budget deficit -- 25.4 percent (12th largest)
Unemployment -- 9.8 percent (tied-10th highest)
Median household income -- $46,007 (18th lowest)
Percent below poverty line -- 19.1 percent (tied-6th highest)
