Smart Phone App Helps Track Kids

If your kids are heading out trick or treating by themselves this week, there are smart phone apps you can use to check their whereabouts.

Securafone is an app that has both free and premium versions. If a child is carrying an iPhone or Android phone the app can update parents via text every few minutes letting them know where their child is.

The Atlanta Community Tool Bank will open to the public for its annual Tool Rush sale on Saturday, November 3rd.

Shoppers can purchase tools at a fraction of retail, both new and gently used. The tool bank is located at 55 Ormond Street Northeast near Inman Park.  The sale goes from 8am to 2pm. The Tool Bank lends tools and supplies to non profit organizations around metro Atlanta

The Atlanta Habitat for Humanity Restore has a new shipment of gently used General Electric ranges and dishwashers. The Restore is located at 519 Memorial Drive, SE near Grant Park. All the money raised benefits Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.  It's a great place to get new and gently used or surplus building supplies as well as furniture and appliances.  The store is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5.

There's a new consignment store in Buford called Clothes Mentor. It's part of a national chain and features gently used high end women's apparel and accessories. Shoppers also can get cash for high quality unwanted items that are no more than two years old. Some fashions are 80 percent off what they would cost new.
