ATLANTA -- Crews will work on the mainline in both directions of Interstate 285 on Saturday and Sunday, October 27, 28.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, drivers can expect delays and major backups during the resurfacing project, weather permitting.
Throughout the weekend, two left lanes will be closed eastbound from Cobb Parkway to Powers Ferry Road. Two right lanes will be closed westbound from Ashford Dunwoody to Riverside Drive, GDOT said.
Crews will close various ramps along the top end of Interstate 285 as they work on Saturday and Sunday.
"It will be a difficult drive across the top end this weekend," GDOT District Construction Engineer Lee Upkins said. "Avoid it if possible but if you have to go through there, give yourself extra time."
