ATLANTA -- A letter from Grace Buckel's mother reads, 'My child has cancer. No matter how many times I tell myself, it can still take my breath away.'
Just a few months ago, Grace was a normal 12-year-old girl who loved playing soccer. Now she's 13 and is being treated for osteosarcoma, a bone cancer.'
Cindy Buckel says her daughter complained of pain above her right knee and they thought it was a soccer injury.
Cindy says the worst day was when they had to tell Grace she had cancer. What followed after that was surgery, then chemotherapy at the AFLAC Cancer Center.
Grace still has a ways to go. Her mother says she asked Grace if she wondered why she was chosen for cancer. Grace's answer. "No, I know it's God's plan for me."
