In DeKalb County, drivers are being warned to avoid southbound Interstate 285 south of Highway 78 due to multiple accidents.

One wreck is blocking one lane near Church Street. At one point the entire roadway was blocked. The closures are expected through 6 p.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

GDOT is encouraging drivers to take US 78 eastbound to Mountain Industrial Boulevard southbound to Memorial Drive (SR 10) Westbound, as an alternate to southbound I-285.
