LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Authorities at Georgia Gwinnett College have halted their search for an alleged suspect in an assault that supposedly occurred on the campus on Monday.

In a statement released by the institution, President Dan Kaufman said that "no such assault took place" and that the supposed victim admitted that the report was false.
According to the original report, the assault took place in the parking lot adjacent to Building 3000.
Dr. Kaufman also reminded students to be "watchful and vigilant" at the end of his statement. No other information was immediately available.
According to school officials, police are considering pressing charges against the complainant; no word on those charges from campus police.
