Newnan gathers input for voting redistricts

NEWNAN, Ga. -- The City of Newnan is welcoming input from residents as they work through voting redistricts.

While planning new redistricting maps for city voters, city officials will be holding public informational meetings for local neighborhood residents.

The first meeting will be on September 17 at Newnan Utilities Wahoo Creek. The rest of the schedule is as follows:

-September 18 at the Central Education Center

-September 20 at Ruth Hill Elementary School

-September 25 at Newnan Crossing Elementary School

All four meetings will be from 7 to 9 p.m. 

They said that as a result of population growth from the 2010 Census information, they now need to come up with a new plan for voters in Newnan, According to the 2010 Census, Newnan's population increased 103% from the 2000 report.
