MARIETTA, Ga. -- Marietta Police Detectives have secured a warrant for a Dacula man who they believe has stolen multiple computer hard drives from local retailers.
According to the MPD, Ryan Kingston, 29, has hit nine Target stores, and is possible connected to other hard drive thefts from other retailers of metro Atlanta. Police have Kingston in custody in Atlanta on a similar charge from a theft committed at a Walmart.
Police said Kingston entered the store with an unknown white male, and walked back to the electronics section in each of the stores. They said Kingston has been able to get through the security devices attached to the hard drives, and that he hides the merchandise on his body, underneath his clothes.
On September 4, around 9 p.m., police said security cameras captured footage of Kingston stealing several hard drives at the Target store of 2201 Cobb Parkway. Police identified Kingston based on forensic evidence collected at the scene.
