HIRAM, Ga. -- A Paulding County school bus was involved in an accident while taking students to school Monday morning.

The accident happened at a bridge on Pine Valley Road in Hiram, according to Paulding County Sheriff's spokesman Ashley Henson. Three cars were involved in addition to the bus.

Twelve Hiram High School students were on the school bus. They and the bus driver were not injured, Henson said.

Three people in one of the cars were injured and transported to a local hospital, according to Henson. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

Paulding County Schools Associate Superintendent Brian Otott said another bus arrived at the scene to take the students to school.
