DORAVILLE, Ga. -- The DeKalb Engineering Team's Endeavour took its tour through the Cross Keys School District, ending at Doraville's Fleming Arena.

According to the City of Doraville, Endeavour, Georgia's first solar powered car built by high school students, started the tour at Cross Keys High School. It drove up Buford Highway to Chamblee, then finished at Fleming Arena at Honeysuckle Park for a demonstration.

The demonstration featured food, a raffle for a free iPad and Chick-Fil-A gift certificates.

Endeavour drives with a top speed of 40 miles-per-hour and stands five feet above ground, and is 16-feet long.

Suniva, out of Norcross, manufactured and donated solar cells for the car. The cells, and eight 30-pound batteries power its eight horse engine.
