ATLANTA -- Two serious accidents affected the morning commute in different part of metro Atlanta Monday.

One of the wrecks shut down Highway 92 near a BP gas station and Baxter's Grocery in Woodstock shortly before 7 a.m.

Cherokee County Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said traffic investigators believe a car pulled in front of a Ford F250, causing the truck to slam into the side of the car. The car's driver was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital "in bad shape," Baker said. The driver's current condition is not known.

In Gwinnett County, another wreck closed Old Norcross Road between Sugarloaf Parkway and Riverside Parkway in Lawrenceville at around 5:30 a.m. Gwinnett Police said the wreck was fatal, but would not offer any more details.

Investigators are recommending drivers who typically take Old Norcross use Highway 29 or Highway 316 instead.
